I just learned tonight what sudoku actually means in Japanese. It’s a compound formed from two Japanese kanji.
æ•°å— ï¼ã€€ã™ã†ã˜ã€€ï¼ã€€suuji = figure; number; numeral
独 ï¼ã€€ã©ã ï¼ã€€doku = alone, single (when used in context) (This kanji also means Germany, for some reason.)
Huh. Who knew?
